Da 5:20 “But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him.
Pride will harden your spirit

……the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified. (Daniel 5:23)

Da 6:3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.

Daniel distinguished himself above others because the Holy Spirit was at work in him. This made the king take notice of him and he then decided to elevate him to a higher position. This made the others envious of him.

The moment you are successful you will have people who are jealous of you. The truth is that success will make many people love you and also cause some people to hate you.

If you are battling jealousy then it is an indicator of a measure of success or favour resting on your life.

Da 6:7 “All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
The decision of the majority is not always right. Just because 100 people are saying it that does not make it the truth. This is why godly discernment is so important.
Ex 23:2 “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.

Da 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Daniel was committed to pray everyday and not just when there was trouble or there was a prayer service as most ministers of God do.
It was a habit. It had become a lifestyle since early days. This was the reason for his success. And he was not going to neglect the source of his success.
Know this that the enemy knows the source of your success and he will try to eliminate this source. He will attack your prayer life.

Daniel knew the writing was signed and yet he prayed….
Daniel was ready to pay a great price for his fellowship with God.
They will always be a price you have to pay to fellowship with God.

Father, in the name of Jesus, release your Holy Angels on my behalf and shut the mouth of every lion and dog against me.

The God whom I serve He will deliver me from every evil
