God expects something from me. He expects me to bear fruit. “So He expected it to bring forth good grapes” (Isaiah 5:2 (b))

The very reason that God chose us was to bear fruit – John 15:16
We must bear fruit to God – Romans 7:4

The Secret of bearing fruit
John 15:4-5

Why people don’t bear fruit?
Because they are not abiding in Him (John 15:6)

What will happen if we (the vineyard) do not bear good fruit?
5 And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. 6 I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.” (Isaiah 5:5-6)

1). Protection will be removed – take away its hedge and break the wall
2). No correction – no instruction – not pruned or dug
3). No rain – nor refreshing
4). Come under Judgement (John 15:6) – thrown into the fire and they are burned

Secret to an open heaven
Abide in me and My words abiding in you

Why should we bear much fruit?
By our bearing fruit God is glorified (John 15:8)

Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23

God commands the clouds and it rains. He commands the clouds and they don’t rain. We are children of the living God. We too can command the clouds to rain or to stop raining. (Isaiah 5:6)

Warning to those who seek alcohol the first thing in the morning and then continue until night (Isaiah 5:11)

People who drink wine – they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His hands (the work of his hands) (Isaiah 5:12)

Woe to men mighty at drinking wine (Isaiah 5:22)

Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drinks (Isaiah 5:22)

Woe to those who twist words (Isaiah 5:20) who call good evil and evil good
They do not regard the work of the Lord – a sad indictment. People will enjoy their parties, blow up money but will hardly give anything towards the Lord’s work.

Reason for the captivity of the God’s people: No knowledge of God’s Word (Isaiah 5:13)
