Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan (Luke 4:1)
Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14)
This was after a period of fasting

Lord Jesus Christ fasted before starting His ministry (Luke 4:1-2)

There are parallels with the way that Jesus is tested and the way that Adam was tested; but Adam faced his temptation in the most favorable circumstances imaginable; Jesus faced His temptations in about the worst circumstances.
Adam was not fasting, Jesus was fasting
Adam was not in the wilderness, Jesus was in the wilderness

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” (Luke 4:3)
If You are the Son of God – Just some verses earlier there was a voice from heaven that said, “You are My beloved Son” The devil will always make you doubt the Word of God.
Notice first he makes you doubt the Word of God. Now after the doubt has set in, he then challenges you to do something to prove that God is with you. Now you are not operating from faith but from doubt.

For this has been delivered to me – Luke 4:6
Adam delivered it to satan in the garden of Eden

Satan seeks worship (all will be Yours if You worship) – Luke 4:7

Satan knows the Word of God too (Luke 4:10-11) It is sad that God’s people don’t know enough of the Word. The greatest deception comes through the misuse of the Word.
Jesus understood from His knowledge of the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27) that Satan was “twisting” this passage from Psalm 91. Jesus knew how to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Should I go to Church?
So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. (Luke 4:16)
Lord Jesus could have worshipped the Father alone and no one could have faulted Him for that. Today, there are Christians who claim that it is not necessary to go to church they can worship from home or anywhere they feel like. (Luke 4:16) ….as was his custom

Those familiar with great people sometimes are the least appreciative of their greatness. (Luke 4:24)

Why were the people angry with Lord Jesus?
He spoke about going to the gentiles (Luke 4:25-28)

Lord Jesus taught the Word with authority (Luke 4:32)
