1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good. (Psalm 14:1)

David looked at those who denied the existence of God and came to the conclusion that they are fools.

David says this because of the plain evidence that there is a God. This evidence is found in:

  1. Creation
  2. Human Conscience

Pauls describes this in Romans 1. The fact that some people insist on denying the existence of God does not erase God from the universe. Instead it speaks of their own standing as fools. As Paul writes in Romans 1:22, “Professing to be wise, they became fools.”

The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 14:2

The bible clearly tells us that those who understand seek God. One of the signs of understanding is that, you will begin to seek God. This shows that the understanding of God is operating in you.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call on the Lord? 14:4
The people who ‘do not call on the Lord’ are called workers of iniquity
These are the people who do not pray
The people who do not pray are called ‘workers of iniquity’
