He made the laver of bronze and its base of bronze, from the bronze mirrors of the serving women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. (Exodus 38:8)
Apparently, there were a group of women in Israel who served God by regularly meeting to help the priests and the work of the tabernacle. This shows us that women have always served the Lord
Just imagine hundreds, maybe thousands of treasured mirrors, from nameless, faceless women are dissolved into a golden liquid, poured into a mold and formed into a basin.
The basin was then filled with clean and pure water to wash away the impurities of the world so that the washed one could enter the Holy Place.
Bronze is symbolic of judgment and a mirror would reflect back to them a very accurate image of their faces, hands, and feet and all the filth and dirt that needed washing.
