When Moses finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings. He also anointed and consecrated the altar and all its utensils. (Leviticus 7:1)
Anointing the house is scriptural
So Moses took the carts and oxen and gave them to the Levites. He gave two carts and four oxen to the Gershonites, as their work required, and he gave four carts and eight oxen to the Merarites, as their work required. They were all under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest. But Moses did not give any to the Kohathites, because they were to carry on their shoulders the holy things, for which they were responsible. (Numbers 7:6-9)
Sons of Gershon Two Wagons Four Oxen (v.7)
Sons of Merari Four Wagons Eight Oxen (v.8)
Sons of Kohath No Wagons No Oxen (carry things on their shoulders) (v.9)
The family of Koath received no carts, and no oxen; they were to carry the holy furniture of the tabernacle (Numbers 4:4), and were to carry all things on their shoulders – so, to remove the temptation to disobey, Moses gave them no carts!
David made a mistake here and carried the ark of the covenant on the carts instead of shoulders.
The presence of God should never be a burden to us
The cross was never a burden for the Lord
If we were the kohathites we would have probably been hurt and offended
But they the privileged people to carry it on their shoulders
This shows that each person in the kingdom of God is unique
Numbers 7:12-83
The detailed verses about the offerings tells us how much God values our offerings
He keeps a detailed record of our offerings
The same offering was given each day for the dedication of the altar
When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with God, he heard the Voice speaking to him from between the two angel-cherubim above the Atonement-Cover on the Chest of The Testimony. He spoke with him.(Numbers 7:89)
After 12 days of offerings Moses heard the voice of God
