For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. (2 Corinthians 10:3)
Apostle Paul says we are living in the flesh and are engaged in a war. This warfare is not in the fleshy realm but a war that is being fought in the spiritual realm.
Since this war is being fought in the spiritual realm, the weapons that we are using are not conventional weapons like guns, bombs etc but spiritual weapons.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)
The Bible makes it clear that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to destroy and disgrace all types of enemies that may come our way.
For the weapons of our warfare….(Description of the weapons)
- are not carnal (they are spiritual weapons)
- but mighty in God
Purpose of the weapons
1.for pulling down strongholds
2.casting down arguments
3.(Casting down) every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God
4.bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Spiritual battles are fought with spiritual weapons and not carnal weapons.
Notice scripture says weapons and not weapon….could you tell me what those weapons are?
Our main weapons are:
- The spoken name of Jesus
- The spoken blood of Jesus
- The spoken word of God
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. (2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT)
Every proud obstacle that keeps us from knowing God be cut off in the name of Jesus. (2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT)
But our authority builds you up; it doesn’t tear you down. (2 Corinthians 10:8 NLT)
There is an authority that builds one up and then there is an authority that tears you down. Use your authority to build people.
