Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails. When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves. Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?” (Judges 15:4-6)
Samson wanted to inflict total destruction upon the harvest of the philistines. So instead of using one torch to burn up all the wheat and vineyards and olive groves of the Philistines, he now had 150 torches that would get the job done (one torch between 2 foxes)
This is a great lesson on evangelism. Samson consumed by revenge, caught three hundred foxes and tied torches to their tails. He then released the foxes into the fields of harvest. The results were devastating. The fields of the philistines were totally burnt down.
One day Jesus, Jesus lamented saying, “the harvest is rich but the labourers are few” The short time to reap the harvest and the coming judgement must challenge us to move into the fields to reap the harvest.
What if we set a goal for ourselves to raise 300 men whose hearts are on fire for God and release them into the harvest (our cities). Would not the enemy be forced to cry out, “who has done this?”
Jesus sent his disciples two by two into the harvest with the fire and anointing of the Holy Spirit
Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19 Amplified)
As a family gather together and pray
As a church gather together and pray
Two are better than one, 1.because they have a good return for their work:2. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, 3.if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 4.Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the Lord and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?” So God split the hollow place that is in [d]Lehi, and water came out, and he drank; and his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore he called its name En Hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. And he judged Israel twenty years in the days of the Philistines. (Judges 15:18-20)
En Hakkore mean spring of the caller
God heard the cry of Samson calling to Him for water and gave him springs of water to drink. How much more will God hear us and give to us springs of living water.
It all depends on us calling to the Lord.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13)
