Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it), And they were left, that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses (Judges 3:1-2,4)
The purpose of the enemy in your life
- To test you
- So that you will know how to fight - spiritual warfare. This will help develop spiritual muscles.
- To know whether they would obey the commandments of the Lord
They were for the testing and proving of Israel to know whether Israel would listen and obey the commandments of the Lord, which He commanded their fathers by Moses. (Judges 3:4)
City of Palm Trees is Jericho - Judges 3:13
After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad; and he also delivered Israel. (Judges 3:31)
God used Shamgar with an ox goad. God will often use the insignificant things and get the job done.
I have often heard Christians say, “God will give us the best” and there is nothing wrong with that. It is God's desire to give us the best.
However, when God's anointing comes on the things that we already have (the insignificant things) He can still get the job done through those things.
