Renewing the Mind
I am sure this has happened to you many times during your lifetime.
You heard a song somewhere and you said to yourself, "What a ridiculous song?" Then you heard the same song being played again later somewhere.
One day, as you were sitting at home, all of a sudden you start to hum or sing that so-called 'silly song'. My point is, if the song was so ridiculous or silly, then why on earth are you singing it?
The reality is that whatever you hear over and over will be at the forefront of your consciousness The mind tends to dwell upon whatever is repeated over and over again. This is called the law of reinforcement.
If we hear something long enough, we tend to believe it and act upon it. The process is simple. The song is repeated many times so we end up hearing it, then we start thinking about that song and soon we end up singing or humming that tune.
This clearly shows us that the right thoughts will get us motivated to take the right actions or at least move us in the right direction.
The most productive way we can feed our mind with the right thoughts is to feed your mind daily with the word of God.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
In Romans 12:2, Paul says our spiritual transformation occurs through “the renewing of our minds.” Make it a point to start your day daily by reading the word of God or listening to the audio bible.
Apostle Paul also mentioned the importance of feeding our minds with the right things so that we can carry the presence of God always.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things…...Then the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)
Confession
I confess that I am renewed in the spirit of my mind. (Eph. 4:23)
I confess that I have and operate in the mind of Christ. I tap into the thoughts of Christ and release the power of His thinking into my thinking, in the name of Jesus. (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5)
I believe and I confess that I am not conformed to the patterns and culture of this world, but I am daily transformed by the renewing of my mind through the Word of God. (Romans 12:2
