Don’t Stop Pouring Into Others

“Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right if you don’t give up.” – Galatians 6:9 (CEV)
Many people have had painful experiences while trying to help others. They helped with children, cooked meals, prayed faithfully, and assisted in finding jobs—only to later face betrayal from those they supported.

Such experiences cause deep pain. Bitterness begins to grow. Some even make a firm decision: “I will never help anyone again.”

While that may seem like a street-smart response, it is not the way of Christ. In fact, this is exactly how the enemy wants it.

Help Without Expecting in Return

Jesus said:
“Be kind and do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High.” – Luke 6:35 (Amplified)

Most of us help others with an expectation that one day, when we are in need, they will help us back. When that doesn’t happen, feelings of being used and abused begin to surface.

But Scripture teaches a higher way.

We are called to help without expecting or hoping for anything in return. God assures us that our help is never in vain. He sees. He remembers. He rewards.

And more than that, He calls us His sons and daughters.

Serve with God’s Strength
The Bible says:
“…If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies…” – 1 Peter 4:11 (CEV)
Helping others is not meant to drain you spiritually. When you serve with God’s strength not your own you will find that He continually renews and empowers you.

As you pour into others, the Lord multiplies your capacity. He enlarges your heart. He increases your ability to bless thousands.

This is the secret of spiritual growth.

Do Not Let Bitterness Stop You
  • Fear.
  • Doubt.
  • Unbelief.
  • Resentment.
  • Bitterness.
These are the very things that attempt to hinder you from being a giver, a lifter, and a blessing.

But Scripture reminds us:
“God is not unfair. How can He forget your hard work for Him, or forget the way you have shown your love for Him—and still do—by helping His children?” – Hebrews 6:10
God is just. He never overlooks your labor of love. Every prayer, every sacrifice, every unseen act of kindness is recorded in heaven.

Be excited knowing that the Lord Himself is your Rewarder.

Keep Pouring So the Oil Keeps Flowing
In 2 Kings 4:6 we read:
“When the vessels were all full, the widow said to her son, ‘Bring me another vessel.’ And he said to his mother, ‘There is not one left.’ Then the oil stopped multiplying.”
The oil stopped multiplying when the widow stopped pouring.

This is a powerful spiritual principle.

As long as she kept pouring, the oil kept flowing.

A Prophetic Encouragement: Keep Pouring
Keep pouring even when they don’t appreciate you.
Keep pouring even when they don’t respect you for all that you do.

Keep pouring when they reject you, hurt you, and misunderstand you.
  • Don’t stop serving.
  • Don’t stop giving.
  • Don’t stop attending services.
  • Don’t stop praying for others.
  • Don’t stop forgiving and caring.
Keep pouring so that the oil keeps flowing.

Because when you pour in obedience to God, heaven ensures that the supply never runs dry.

And in due season—you will reap.

Father, give me the grace to keep on being a blessing to people around me. You are just and faithful. Nothing is hidden from your eyes. Give me more so that I can do more. All the glory is Yours. In Jesus' name. Amen.
