Habits are the bedrock of our everyday lives. We build our daily practices, and eventually, our habits and routines shape us and make us who we are. Distraction pulls your attention in a million directions. If you are habituated to give in to distractions, let me warn you about its consequences.
1. Distractions can hinder your breakthrough
If we read Acts 3, One afternoon as the Apostles, Peter and John went to the temple for prayer. At the entrance called the Beautiful Gate. a man, a beggar who was lame from birth, was there. When he noticed Peter and John going into the temple, he begged them for money.
4And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us." 5So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. (Acts 3:4-5)
I want you to notice carefully; Peter said to the lame beggar, "Look at us," and the beggar focussed on Peter. That is when the miracle happened.
This tells me that to receive your breakthrough, you need to focus on the right things. Distraction will rob you of your breakthrough.
2. Distractions prevent us from seeing God at work in our lives and in the world
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now, in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. (Matthew 14:24-26)
Even with great advancements in science, we still cannot walk on water. Here was Jesus walking on water. A great miracle was happening right in front of their eyes, and because of the wind, the storm and the waves, they missed seeing Jesus walking on the water. The wind and the storm were a distraction that kept them from seeing Jesus at work in their life, in their world.

                Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You for an endless supply of supernatural power to storm through every single distraction. Amen.
