I Shall Be Favoured

“And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed.”
(Exodus 3:21)

Favour is an act of kindness shown either by God to man or from man to man. Every human being desires good things and kindness from others. People are channels of blessing, but God is the source of all blessings and favour. When God places His favour upon a person, people are compelled to favour that individual.

Our anchor Scripture reveals that favour originates from God: “I will give this people favour…” Today, lift your voice and ask God for His favour. He can cause anyone to favour you—not just friends or acquaintances, but even strangers and former enemies. I declare over your life that you shall be favoured in Jesus’ name.

Many people walk through life feeling empty because they have been robbed or cheated physically, financially, emotionally, or spiritually. Israel would have left Egypt empty-handed, but the favour of God ensured they left with wealth, glory, and possessions. The favour of God can divinely compensate you for every wasted year.

What Can the Favour of God Do in a Person’s Life?

1. Favour Causes People to Notice You

Favour creates divine awareness. It causes people to see you through the lens of grace even when you feel unqualified.

“Why have I found favour in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
 — Ruth 2:10

2. Favour Guarantees Promotion

Where human effort ends, divine favour lifts.

“For You are the glory of their strength, and in Your favour our horn is exalted.”
 — Psalm 89:17

3. Favour Secures the Help of God

Whenever help is needed, favour releases it. Increased favour results in increased help.

“Remember me, O Lord, with the favour You have toward Your people. Oh, visit me with Your salvation.”
 — Psalm 106:4

4. Favour Is Needed for Marital Settlement

It is favour—not beauty, wealth, or status—that connects you to the right spouse.

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour from the Lord.”
 — Proverbs 18:22

5. Favour Grants the Right to Ask God for Anything

Favour opens the door to answered prayer. Without favour, prayer produces no results.

“If now I have found favour in Your sight, then show me a sign…”
 — Judges 6:17

6. Favour Helps Us Enjoy God’s Mercy

Understanding how grace, mercy, love, and favour operate will help you walk in the fullness of God’s blessings. Without favour, mercy is withheld, and judgment follows. When mercy appears, it triumphs over judgment.

“…In My favour I have had mercy on you.”
 — Isaiah 60:10
“Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
 — James 2:13

Biblical Examples of Those Who Enjoyed Favour

Jesus

According to Luke 2:52, Jesus increased in wisdom and in favour. If the Son of God needed favour to fulfil His earthly assignment, we also cannot live effectively without it.

Mary, the Mother of Jesus

Mary was selected by divine favour. Many virgins lived in her city, yet favour distinguished her.

“Rejoice, highly favoured one.”
 — Luke 1:28

Favour exists in levels. There is basic favour—and there is high favour. May you begin to walk in high favour in Jesus’ name.

What Must You Do to Enjoy Favour?

1. Keep the Word of God

Obedience determines the measure of favour you enjoy.

“Let your heart keep my commands… So you will find favour and high esteem in the sight of God and man.”
 — Proverbs 3:1–4

2. Walk in Humility

Another word for grace is “favour.” Humility positions a person to receive it. Pride blinds a man to the truth that every success, victory, and achievement is a gift from God. Pride robbed Nebuchadnezzar—let it not rob you.

“Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble.”
 — (cross-reference: Proverbs 3:34)

3. Be Good to Others

Your kindness should extend beyond those who are good to you. Reflect your heavenly Father by loving unconditionally.

“A good man obtains favour from the Lord…”
 — Proverbs 12:2

Jesus teaches us to love even our enemies:

“…love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you…”
 — Matthew 5:43–48

Goodness attracts divine favour.

4. Pray for Favour

Favour is a blessing you can ask for in prayer. God delights in surrounding His people with favour.

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as with a shield.”
 — Psalm 5:12

Remember

Favour is not a luxury; it is a necessity for destiny. It opens doors, shifts seasons, restores what was lost, and positions you for divine encounters. Lift your voice today and cry out for God’s favour. As He favoured Israel in Egypt, may He favour you—surrounding you with glory, honour, help, mercy, and supernatural lifting.

You shall be favoured. You shall not go empty. In Jesus’ mighty name.
