When Will the Rapture Take Place?

Many people ask, “When will the rapture happen?”

The honest biblical answer is: we do not know the exact day or time.

Lord Jesus Himself made this very clear:

“But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Mark 13:32, ESV)

I want to respectfully warn you that anyone who fixes a date or claims special knowledge is going beyond what Scripture allows. God has chosen to keep the exact timing hidden, so that His people live in constant readiness, not complacency.

The Rapture Is Certain

While the timing is unknown, the rapture itself is not in doubt. The Bible repeatedly teaches that Jesus will return suddenly for His people.

Lord Jesus warned:

“You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”(Luke 12:40, NIV)

This means the return of Christ will not fit into human calendars or expectations. It will interrupt normal life work, travel, routines just like previous sudden acts of God in Scripture.

Signs That Point to the Season

Although we don’t know the day, Jesus did give signs to help us recognise the season.

He said:

“And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”
(Matthew 24:6–7, ESV)

When we look at today’s world global conflicts, instability, natural disasters we can clearly see these signs increasing. These signs don’t give us a date, but they do tell us that we should stay alert.

God’s Prophetic Calendar

The Bible also reveals that God works according to appointed times.

“These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them.”(Leviticus 23:4, NASB)

There are seven feasts of the Lord:

Passover
Unleavened Bread
Firstfruits
Weeks (Pentecost)
Trumpets
Day of Atonement
Tabernacles

The first four feasts were fulfilled exactly:

Jesus died on Passover
He was buried during Unleavened Bread
He rose on Firstfruits
The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost

This shows God’s timing is precise and intentional.

The Feast of Trumpets and the Rapture

Three feasts are still unfulfilled. The first of these is the Feast of Trumpets, marked by the blowing of the shofar.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep,but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

Each year, as the Feast of Trumpets approaches, anticipation grows among those who observe it. We may not know the exact timing of the rapture, but one thing is certain: it will occur on the day of the Feast of Trumpets. Our duty is to remain vigilant and prepared.
