A Guaranteed Yes

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20, NKJV)

This verse is one of the most powerful statements in Scripture. It tells us something life-changing: every promise God has ever made finds its “Yes” in Jesus Christ. God does not speak loosely. When He makes a promise, He stands behind it fully and Jesus is the proof.

The Message translation captures this beautifully:

“Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In Him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen God’s Yes and our yes together, gloriously evident.” (2 Corinthians 1:20, MSG)

No Disclaimer

There was a man of God who often said,

“If God said it, I believe it, and that settles it.”

Circumstances may try to argue otherwise. Feelings may challenge it. Situations may contradict it. But God’s Word stands above all of them.

Think about television commercials. They promise amazing results great deals, instant success, guaranteed benefits. But at the end, there is always a fast-talking voice you can barely understand. That voice is the disclaimer: terms and conditions apply.

God does not work that way.

There are no hidden clauses, no fine print, and no exceptions with God’s promises. When God promises something in His Word, He guarantees it. He alone can promise without failure, because He cannot lie.

Promises That Align With His Word

Now, it is important to understand something clearly. God does not answer every prayer simply because we ask. He answers prayers that align with His Word and His will.

Sometimes we pray for things that God has never promised. When those prayers are not answered, it does not mean God failed it means the request did not line up with His Word.

God has already given us His Word, and His Word cannot fail.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

When God speaks, His Word always accomplishes its purpose.

Partnering With God

Doing things God’s way partnering with Him through faith and obedience guarantees a return. This return may not always come in the way or timing we expect, but it will always come in a way that brings glory to God and blessing to our lives.

God has placed within His Word answers for every need we will ever face spiritual, emotional, physical, relational, and even material.

Stand on a Promise

Whenever you face a challenge, don’t panic. Go to the Bible. Look for a promise that speaks directly to your situation. Find a verse you can stand on. Speak it. Pray it. Believe it.

God’s “Yes” is already settled in Christ.

Your role is to say “Amen”—I agree.

When God’s Yes and your Amen come together, His glory becomes visible in your life.
