Many Christians and even preachers today avoid speaking about hell.
I agree that we should not use a harsh “turn or burn” approach that pushes people away. But at the same time, we must be careful not to swing to the other extreme and fall into the ditch on the other side.
Silence on truth is just as dangerous as fear-based preaching.
The Dangerous Lie
Today, there is a growing belief that no matter what you do or what you believe, you will still make it to Heaven.
This is not truth.
It is a lie and it is leading many people astray.
If everything leads to Heaven, then the sacrifice of Jesus loses its meaning. The cross was not a symbol it was a necessity.
Heaven: A Prepared Place
Lord Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” — John 14:6
Heaven is real. And it is not entered by chance it requires preparation.
The preparation is simple, yet powerful:
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9–10
This decision does three things:
- It saves you from the penalty of sin
- It gives you right standing with God
- It brings salvation to your spirit, soul, and body
Adopted into God’s Family
The moment you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, something supernatural happens:
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” — John 1:12
You are no longer distant you are now family.
Heaven is not a reward you earn; it is a home you belong to.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
“In Your presence is fullness of joy.” — Psalm 16:11
Hell: A Reality
Hell is not a myth. It is real.
Lord Jesus spoke more about hell than many realise—not to scare people, but to warn them.
The Bible describes hell as:
- A place of separation from God (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
- A place of torment and regret (Luke 16:23–24)
- A place where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:48)
One of the most sobering truths is this:
Hell was never created for mankind.
“Depart from Me… into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” — Matthew 25:41
God never designed hell as man’s destination—but man can choose it by rejecting Him.
The Heart of God:
God is love.
“The Lord… is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” — 2 Peter 3:9
He does not want anyone to miss Heaven. But love does not force it gives a choice.
That is the weight of eternity.
Our Responsibility
Each person must make their own decision.
But as believers, we also carry a responsibility to reach out to others with love.
Not with fear. Not with judgment.
But with truth wrapped in love.
Because somewhere around us are people who are one decision away from eternity.
Heaven is real.
Hell is real.
And eternity is too long to be wrong.
Choose wisely.
And help others find their way home to the Father.
Prayer
Father, I have put my trust in Your Son Jesus, who paid the price for my punishment. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. Heaven is my eternal home. Amen.
