The children of Israel once sarcastically asked the Lord this question: "Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?" (Psalm 78:19). The answer to that question is a definite Yes!
In fact, heavenly manna fell every morning for six days right outside their tents.
"The Israelites called the food manna. It was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey wafers." (Exodus 16:31)
Overflowing Provision
Later, when the children of Israel grew tired of manna and desired meat instead, the Lord responded:
"Has the Lord's arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not." (Numbers 11:23)
What happened next was extraordinary.
"The Lord sent a wind that brought quail from the sea and let them fall all around the camp. For miles in every direction, there were quail flying about three feet above the ground. So the people went out and caught quail all that day and throughout the night and all the next day, too." (Numbers 11:31–32)
God did not merely meet their need He overwhelmed them with His provision.
More Than Food
The miracles did not stop there.
For forty years, the children of Israel wore clothes and shoes that never wore out, and even their feet did not swell (Nehemiah 9:21). These were not ordinary blessings; they were acts of supernatural provision sustained by the hand of God.
After reading these accounts, many Christians quietly think, "Oh sure, I believe that happened—but that was thousands of years ago."
Don't be one of them.
Do not allow your faith to waver when it comes to trusting God personally for your own miracle of provision.
Please pay careful attention to what I am about to say:
The ability of God to provide for you must be birthed within you through revelation. It must become a living conviction produced by the anointing and illumination of the Holy Spirit.
A Seven-Day Faith Challenge
Here is what I want you to do.
For the next seven days, read Scriptures that speak about God's supernatural provision. As you meditate on those verses, ask the Lord to provide for you according to His Word.
Mark my words: things will begin to happen in your life.
When you experience God's faithfulness, don't stop there. Continue this practice throughout your life, and teach others to trust the Lord in the same way.
I believe we are living in the last days. Jesus spoke of the "beginning of sorrows" or birth pains before the coming Tribulation (Matthew 24:8).
Yet both Scripture and history testify to one unchanging truth: whether in seasons of abundance or times of great difficulty, God is able to provide supernaturally for His people.
The God who prepared a table in the wilderness has not changed. His arm has not been shortened. He is still Jehovah Jireh the Lord who provides.
Bible Reading: Psalm 143-150; Proverbs 1
Prayer
Father, I receive your word on supernatural provision. You haven't changed. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are my provider. In Jesus' name. Amen.
