Faith: A Sure Path to Pleasing the LORD

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”—Hebrews 11:6 NLT

Faith is essential to the Christian life. We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), and we continue to walk with God by faith every day. Faith is like a strong binding force that brings together the broken pieces of humanity after the fall. It becomes our pathway into the fullness of all that God has made available to us.

But faith is not merely trying to feel confident that something will happen. True faith grows from knowing God personally. Just as people naturally walk closely with those who value, believe in, and love them, God reveals Himself deeply to those who trust Him and take time to know Him. Faith that is built on relationship is powerful because it flows from the heart, not merely from a desperate need.

When Feelings Are Weak

I remember ministering at one of our Gospel outreaches in a state in India. I had personally prayed for hundreds of people and was physically exhausted. As I was about to get into the car, a woman came with her young daughter, asking for prayer.

They had arrived late because of some difficulties at home. The mother showed my team the medical reports. Nothing significant appeared in them, yet the little girl had been suffering from a persistent shooting pain in her abdomen for several months.

To be honest, at that moment I did not feel even a little faith to pray. My body was tired, and I simply wanted to rest. Yet, in my spirit, I sensed the Lord say, “Son, do not depend on how you feel at this moment. Trust Me and draw upon your relationship with Me.”

Trusting the One You Know

I closed my eyes and prayed a simple prayer: “Father, please help this little girl. She needs Your touch. In Jesus’ name.”

Immediately, she fell under the anointing. I was not expecting it. When she got up, tears filled her eyes as she told her mother that she felt something like electricity surge through her body.

The following month, when I returned to that place, the mother and daughter came on stage to testify. The Lord had graciously healed her completely. The shooting pain that had troubled her for months had left and never returned.

Faith Becomes Easier When You Know Him

There are times when your emotions may be low, your strength may be gone, and the situation before you may seem impossible. But your faith does not have to depend on your feelings. It can rest on the God you have come to know.

Develop your relationship with the Lord through His Word, prayer, worship, and obedience. As you grow closer to Him, you will find yourself stepping out in faith more naturally than before. Why? Because you know the One in whom you have believed (2 Timothy 1:12).

When faith flows out of relationship, there is no striving only trust.
