God Made Mother’s Special

"God couldn't be everywhere, so He made mothers." While this statement may not be theologically accurate, this old Jewish quote aptly describes the significant role mothers play in our lives.

When God describes His love for His people Israel, He uses the metaphor of a mother to describe His love. I find this really amazing.

As one whom his mother comforts,

So I will comfort you (Isaiah 66:13)

When Apostle Paul wanted to show how much he loved the church at Thessalonica, he compared his love to that of a mother’s love.

But we behaved gently when we were among you, like a devoted mother nursing and cherishing her own children. (1 Thessalonians 2:7 Amplified)

A godly mother’s faith can produce a legacy that affects generations to come. She believes in the LORD and His Word and then inculcates the same values in her children. I am sure most of us would agree that we are standing tall today because of a praying mother.

If you are a mother and probably wondering if your life and prayers have had any impact on your children and family, then let me assure you. Keep the good work going. You will see the harvest soon. Don’t lose hope. Remember, God is faithful.

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. (Galatians 6:9 Amplified)

That special day of the year, Mother's Day is tomorrow, 9th May. Please take the time to say thank you to your mom even in this crazy pandemic situation. No mom is perfect but then it is not easy being a mom either. Like most mom’s she must have sacrificed so much that you may not be even aware of. Why not fast and pray for her?

And to all mothers out there, I say. You are special to God and to us. You are the bridge builder between generations. Thank you for all you do. The LORD honor and reward you. (Ruth 2:12)
