If you take out the precious from the vile,
You shall be as My mouth. (Jeremiah 15:19)
There are things that are vile to God but which some people consider precious. And then, there are things that are precious to God but which people consider vile.
It is only when a person truly understands the distinction of what is precious and vile in the eyes of God, it is then that God makes him His mouthpiece.
If there was ever a time and need for being God’s voice on earth, it is now. There are so many confusing and conflicting voices today. There is a great need for God’s voice to be heard.
As God’s representatives on the earth, He has given us the authority to speak for Him. When we speak under the Holy Spirit's leading, we speak as His voice on the earth.
If you are a teacher, then there is a need for God’s voice to be heard among the students and in the field of education. If you are a business person, an executive, a sports person etc., then there is a great need for God’s voice to be heard in your respective sphere of influence. Will you aspire to be God’s voice?
God’s voice is powerful and can accomplish great things. Psalm 29 speaks of the voice of the Lord. Please take the time to meditate on it.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple, everyone says, “Glory!” (Psalm 29:3-9)
This is the same voice that will speak through as you yield to Him.
However, you need to remember that God will never place a word or a message on the lips and in the heart of a man until he has learned to discern what is precious and vile in the eyes of God.
What is vileness in the eyes of God?
Anything that does not edify is vileness in the eyes of God.
What is preciousness in the eyes of God?
Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians, “Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4:8). Indeed, these are the characteristics of behaviour that are precious in the eyes of our Lord.
When Peter preached the gospel on the Day of Pentecost to the assembled crowds he did so under a powerful anointing of the Spirit. Peter’s appeal was simple, direct and powerful, “And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).
Peter had been “clothed with power from on high”, and the results were amazing. Three thousand came to Christ that day and were baptized.
Every day you must spend time in prayer asking the Lord to fill you with His power and might. Also, you must begin to witness to people about the Lord, ask them to attend the services online, pray for them, etc. You will see astounding results. You are called to be God’s mouthpiece.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, teach me to become Your mouthpiece on Earth.
Father, in the name of Jesus, help me to pray breakthrough prayers.
Father, in the name of Jesus, cause me to only speak what You want me to speak.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
