Can I Desire All the Gifts of the Holy Spirit?

Gifts of the Holy Spirit
“Now, concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant” (1 Corinthians 12:1). Remember, the devil’s success is dependent upon our ignorance. When you understand how to receive and stir up these spiritual gifts in your life, you will have power and authority over the enemy.
Quite recently, I heard someone teach that you can desire one or two gifts of the Holy Spirit but desiring all the gifts of the Holy Spirit is being spiritually selfish. Nothing can be far from the truth.
Interestingly Apostle Paul ends the famous chapter on love (1 Corinthians 13) and begins 1 Corinthians 14:1, by saying, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
This clearly means that the Lord wills that we desire all of his gifts, not for selfish reasons but “so that the church may be edified and receive good from it. (1 Corinthians 14:5 Amplified) So then, we must desire to have all the gifts of Spirit because it is the command of God Himself. “But earnestly desire the best gifts. (1 Corinthians 12:31)
One must remember, like all good things, even the gifts can be abused and misused, but then someone said, “Abuse is certainly no excuse for disuse.”
The Church folk in Corinth knew this secret and were passionate about seeing all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest in their services and ministry so that they could have a greater impact in the society that were staying in. Apostle Paul knowing this commended them for this. He further encouraged them, saying: "Now become even more passionate about the things that strengthen the entire church." (Read 1 Corinthians 14:12 Amplified)
