He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself (1 Corinthians 14:4 Amplified Bible)

The amplified version of the Bible adds the synonym “improves” himself. This means when you pray in tongues, you can expect to be improved! One man of God calls it as: the self-improvement program of the Holy Spirit for you! So now, there’s no limit to how much you can improve. Nothing or no one can set a limitation on you.

The Bible says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)

God has put His treasure in earthen vessels (that’s us). However, what's the point of having treasure if you can't tap into it? When you pray in Tongues you will tap into this treasure and make your life even better.

Inner Healing takes place when you pray in Tongues. Very often, many tell me that after praying about an hour in Tongues, they cry and they don't know the reason why. It is because the wounds and the scars are being healed. Remember, edification is building up. Only when you are healed can you really encourage the body of Christ.
