True Witness
We are continuing in our series on 'How to become a Witness of His Resurrection'. Before turning to the LORD, I was on the verge of committing suicide by jumping off a terrace due to certain circumstances. I have portrayed this in my song "Take all of me". This is when someone shared the gospel with me and invited me to a prayer service. In that service, everything changed for me.
I was a guitarist and very involved in heavy metal music. Using filthy language was the accepted norm. The next day, when I met some people from another band, they greeted me in their usual language. I responded normally, and they soon noticed that my language had changed. They asked me what had happened, "I told them that I had met Jesus." They made fun of me and called me names. Even in our locality, when I lived a worldly life, they called me a good person, but when I was seen carrying my bible and guitar and going for prayer services, they would make fun of me. This is how the world is. When you are not one of them, they will despise you.
Scripture clearly tells us, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." (2 Timothy 3:12) I know this does not seem fair. But take a look at what Lord Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:10-11).
In all the other beatitudes, the word "blessed" is used once, but in this particular beatitude, Jesus used the word "blessed" twice to emphasize the generous blessing given by God to the persecuted.
I have written this not to discourage you but to prepare you and encourage you on your path to godliness. Don't step back because you are being persecuted for being a witness of His resurrection.
Now for the best part; many of those who earlier made fun of me now have turned to the LORD. There are some who have not turned to the LORD yet, but they quietly give me their prayer requests and ask for prayer. I prophesy, "Your persecutors will become your best promoters" Even dead fish can go with the flow, but it takes a live fish to go against the stream. Arise! You are going to become a great witness to His resurrection.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I ask You for grace to faithfully endure the trials and suffering while becoming a witness of Your resurrection. Amen.
