Fire Must Fall

Leviticus 6:12-13 tells us, “The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go out. The priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and he shall arrange the burnt offering on it and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.”

What is an altar?
An altar is a place of exchange. It is the meeting point between the spiritual and natural, a meeting point between divinity and humanity. An altar is a place where God meets man.
An altar is a place where destinies are altered.

In the Old Testament, the altar was a physical space. If you had to meet God, you could not do it anywhere else; you had to go to this altar. If you had to sacrifice, you had to go to this place to sacrifice.

However, in the New Testament, the altar is a spiritual place. It is where the human spirit meets God’s Spirit. Lord Jesus clearly defined this kind of altar in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” In other words, whatever place you call upon the name of the Lord, that place becomes an altar.

There was another requirement for an altar. God said, “there must always be fire on the altar” An altar without fire was an abomination to God.

When Israel turned away from the Lord, the altar of the Lord was neglected and broken down. There was no fresh fire on the altars of God. The effect of this was that the entire nation declined into sin.

This was the reason that before God could answer by fire and turn the nation of Israel towards Him, the altar had to be repaired. “And Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.” (1 Kings 18:30) God’s fire will never fall on a broken altar.

Repairing the altar is about our relationship with the Lord. Our relationship with the Lord is built through the Word of God and prayer.

Repairing the altar involves the restoration of true worship in our lives, families and churches by cleansing out every kind of compromise and recommitting ourselves to the Lord Jesus. Hosea 6:1 exhorts us: “Come, and let us return to the LORD: for He has torn, and He will heal us; He has smitten, and He will bind us up.”

Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, let Your fire fall upon me and consume every undesirable thing out of my life. Let the Glory of God be revealed now in Jesus' name.

Father, in the name of Jesus, empower my prayer altar by Your fire. Holy Ghost fire, destroy every garment of reproach and chains of darkness, in Jesus' name.

Fire of the Holy Spirit consume every satanic opposition against me in Jesus' name.

Father, in the name of Jesus, let Your Holy fire fall upon every person connected with Karuna Sadan Ministry.
