“And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” (Genesis 22:14)
When I turned to the LORD, I remember singing the song, “Jehovah Jireh, my provider…” Throughout the years, the name of the LORD ‘Jehovah Jireh’ holds special meaning in my life.
In the very first book of the bible, Genesis, Abraham was about ready to sacrifice his only son Isaac on an altar, prepared on a mountain in the land of Moriah in obedience to God’s command.
Isaac asks his father Abraham, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? And Abraham responds, ‘God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering my son.'” (Genesis 22:8)
Just as Abraham was about to sacrifice his son, the Lord stopped him and showed him a ram caught in a thicket and told him to use that instead. God had placed that ram nearby in advance, knowing He was going to need a substitute for Isaac.
Abraham named that place “The Lord Will Provide.” It means to see in advance or before the need is known.
We live in a very uncertain world. Everything is sort of built on shifting sands. The only constant we have in this world is the LORD and His word. I see the LORD preparing an answer for you and your loved ones before you need it. As a father and mother prepares in advance for their children, the LORD is preparing something wonderful for you. Receive this word!
Now let me show you how you can bring this word to manifest in your life and family. Turn with me to Isaiah 58:11.
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” (Isaiah 58:11)
Allow the LORD to guide you in your day to day affairs, and then His supernatural provision will be seen daily in your life. Remember, He is Jehovah Jireh!
