Worship
Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, “Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you.” (Exodus 10:24)
The Pharaoh called Moses and told them to go and serve the Lord. On the surface, this seems like the Pharaoh was finally giving up and acknowledging defeat. However, if you look closely, the Pharaoh was keeping the flocks and the herds behind.
The reason was that the Pharaoh wanted to curtail Israel’s ability to worship the LORD. So Moses rightly again refused to compromise.
If you read Job 1, there again, we see the first thing that the enemy attacked was the cattle. The reason for this was that every morning Job would offer burnt offerings to God, symbolic of worship. If there were no cattle, how then could Job worship God?
I thank God that today we do not need bulls and goats to worship the Lord. Lord Jesus, through His One perfect sacrifice, has torn open the veil so that now we can enter the very presence of God.
For by that one offering, He forever made perfect those who are being made holy. (Hebrews 10:14 NLT)
If there is one thing that God seeks is worship. John 4:23 (NLT) tells us, “True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”
This is one thing God wants more than anything else.; it’s the time we take to seek His face. And the enemy (the devil) will try and do everything he can to hinder you from worshipping the Lord. The apostle Paul warned that we must be aware of the enemy’s devices (see 2 Corinthians 2:11).
Pride
Nothing hinders true worship more than Pride. If one is not watchful, one can become proud even of his humility. Some Christians become proud of the way God is using them. We must always be careful to remember the donkey that entered Jerusalem with Jesus seated upon it.
Failing to Worship God with our Substance
In Proverbs 3:9-10, we find this command
Honour the Lord with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.
Pharaoh would not mind the children of Israel going out of Egypt to worship their God empty-handed, leaving behind in Egypt all their possessions.
Under the Old Covenant, God actually forbade anyone to come before Him empty-handed, without any gift or offering in his hands from his substance to worship God. God commanded, “And none shall appear before Me empty-handed.” (Exodus 34:20).
Worshipping God with our giving acknowledges God as the source of all that we have and that we are mere managers of what He has given us in the first place. This is where the majority of Christians struggle.
Prayer
Each prayer point must be prayed for at least 2 minutes and more.
Personal Spiritual Growth
Every power hindering me from worshipping the living God be cut off in Jesus name. Amen
Family Salvation
Father God, Your Word says that “godly sorrow brings repentance which leads to salvation and leaves no regret” (2 Corinthians 7:10). Only You can open our eyes to the reality that all have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Cause Your Spirit to move upon my family members with a sense of godly sorrow that they may repent, surrender to You, and be saved. In Jesus’ name.
Financial Breakthrough
Father, deliver me from profitless labour and confused activities in Jesus' name.
KSM Church Growth
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that the LIVE broadcasts would reach thousands of families across the nations. Draw them to know you as Lord and Saviour. Cause each person connecting to grow in word, worship and prayer.
Nation
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for a mighty move of Your Spirit across the length and breadth of our nation, resulting in the continuous growth and expansion of the churches.
