Lifted by Grace
“He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump.” (1 Samuel 2:8 NLT)
Another word for "lifted by grace" is "divine elevation." No matter your current level of success, there is another higher and better level. We are to shine as a light, and our path is to shine brighter and brighter until the perfect day. (Matthew 5:14; Proverbs 4:18)
Grace is an unmerited favour from God. We don't qualify for it; we cannot work for it. It is just something that He bestows on us. The scripture describes Jesus as a man who is "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14, John 1:17). Jesus Christ expressly displayed the grace of God by healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding the hungry, and covering the shame of the couples at the wedding of Cana. Everything that Jesus did showed us what the grace of God could do in people's lives. So, friends, you need the grace of God.
Do we need the grace of God? What can the grace of God do in a man's life? If grace is lacking, what will happen?
The Importance of the Grace of God
1. The grace of God is needed when your human strength has failed you
There comes a point in your life where your strength fails you. At this point, you cannot help yourself, and you can only lean on God because you do not want to bow out. If you have reached this point, remember 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weakness so that the power of Christ may rest in me.
2. The grace of God is needed to undertake tasks that seem impossible
6 “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: (you can take your name here). ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. 7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel, you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ”(Zechariah 4:6-7)
3. The grace of God is needed when all hope is lost
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5). When all hope is lost, God can do the impossible as he did for Peter.
4. The grace of God is needed when people feel that nothing good can come out of you
And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”(John 1:46)
So he (Gideon) said to the Angel of the Lord, 15 “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” 16 And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”(Judges 6:15-16)
5. The grace of God is needed for you to enjoy blessings you did not qualify for
I sent you to reap that for which you have not laboured; others have laboured, and you have entered into their labours.” (John 4:38)
6. The grace of God is needed when you want to do greater work
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14:12)
He has given us His Holy Spirit; therefore, no one has any excuse. Take full advantage of God’s grace today to do great and mighty works for The Lord.
7. The grace of God is needed to receive anything from God
Without grace, you are not qualified to speak to God or to receive anything from Him.
Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
8. The grace of God can give you in 3 months what your labour cannot give you in 30 years
Grace for supernatural speed is the ability to get ahead of people who are already ahead of you in any aspect of life. It is the removal of all procedures and protocols in a divine manner, bringing you to the forefront in an astonishingly short amount of time.
Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah, and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of (the chariots of) Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. (1 Kings 18:46) I pray that this hand of the Lord that was on Elijah the prophet will rest on you and me to outrun others in Jesus’ name.
It is possible to be gifted but not lifted. Many intelligent people in our society are still unemployed. Many beautiful ladies are still unmarried. It takes the grace of God to settle down in marriage, get a good job, and enjoy life. Certain virtues make life sweet, and the grace of God is one of them. A life that lacks grace will struggle. Grace can give you what your strength cannot.
I want you to cry out for the grace of God today. The more you are conscious of the grace of God, the more you’ll see it in operation in your life.
Biblical Examples of Those Who were Lifted by Grace
A] Mephibosheth
The lame were not permitted in the palace, but through the grace of God, Mephibosheth was lifted. There came a day when King David summoned a man by the name of Ziba, who used to be a servant of King Saul. The question was put to him, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul that I may show the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet” (2 Samuel 9:3). David promptly had Mephibosheth brought from Lo-debar, where he was living. (Read 2 Samuel 9:1-13)
B] Joseph
Joseph was not qualified as a stranger to govern Egypt, but grace qualified him. Grace makes men like you and me even rule among our enemies.
42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent, no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” (Genesis 41:38-44)
C] Esther
By grace, a slave girl became a queen in a strange land. Grace is a protocol breaker
The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins, so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. (Esther 2:17)
D] David
Grace took David from the back seat of life to the front. He was divinely upgraded from leading sheep in the forest to a whole nation.
Now, therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. (2 Samuel 7:8). The same can happen to you.
What to do to enjoy Grace and grow in Grace?
1. Pray for Grace
Now, therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” (Exodus 33:13)
2. Be humble
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
3. Be gracious unto others
Whatever you want God to do to you, also do to your neighbour. (Matthew 7:12)
4. Be conscious of God’s grace, and study more about it
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
5. Be thankful to God for everything, both great and small
In everything, give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
6. Seek an impartation of grace from men and women that carry grace
Grace can be imparted through anointed vessels.
Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone. (Numbers 11:17)
Prayer
Repeat every prayer missile till it comes from your heart. Only then move on to the next prayer missile. (Repeat it, personalize it, do this with each prayer point for a minimum 1 minute)
1. I reject the spirit of backwardness and stagnation in Jesus' name. (Philippians 3:13-14)
2. In the name of Jesus, I move from glory to glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
3. Father, give me the grace to achieve breakthroughs in life in Jesus' name. (Romans 5:2)
4. Father, give me an excellent spirit in Jesus' name. (Daniel 6:3)
5. Lord, increase my greatness on every side in Jesus' name. (Psalm 71:21)
6. Lord, by Your grace, lift me to an enviable position in Jesus' name. (Psalm 75:6-7)
7. Father, position me to the place of blessing in Jesus' name. (Deuteronomy 28:2)
8. Father, favour me and cause me to be selected and preferred as the best in Jesus' name. (1 Samuel 16:12)
9. Lord, let your grace speak for me in high places in Jesus' name. (Esther 5:2)
10. By the grace of God, I shall be accepted and not rejected; I shall be above and not beneath; I shall be a lender and not borrow in Jesus' name. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
11. Father, everyone who is part of this 40-day fasting program, let them and their family members be lifted to high positions in Jesus’ name. (Isaiah 58:11)
12. Lord, dismantle every plan of the enemy against my life and let Your truth be my shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4)
