Day 38: 40 Days Fasting & Prayer

PRAYERS AGAINST SICKNESS AND INFIRMITIES

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15)

Sickness and infirmities are not good things that anybody wishes to have in their lives. Unfortunately, they are things that happen to people. For the unbeliever, there is no hope. Why? The only thing that the person can do is run from pillar to post, looking for alternatives and healing. But for the believer, there is hope. Because according to your covenant right in Christ, you are not meant to be sick. But based on circumstances, when the devil comes like a flood to attack you with sickness, you have the Word of God to resist and fight back. You have a covenant right to resist him (James 4:7). Because sickness and disease are not the will of God for you, you must reject them, resist them, and destroy them in your body.

Sickness and diseases bring about shame. The woman with the issue of blood was also afflicted with this kind of infirmity, and she was ashamed. Her head was bowed (Luke 8:43-48). In public, she was not permitted to move around freely because of the issue of blood.

Sickness and infirmities can limit the destinies of people. It is difficult to see somebody with a chronic sickness who is doing exploits. Because the sickness will ground the person. So, the devil uses sicknesses and these infirmities to afflict people in order to limit their destiny, and sometimes he uses it to terminate destinies prematurely.

I want you to get angry in your spirit. Today is a day that we're going to destroy every disease and infirmity that's hiding in any part of your body. Sometimes, people don't know that within their body, the devil has programmed sickness or infirmities there. These things are, first of all, done in the spiritual. That is why somebody can have a dream, and the dream manifests maybe after one year or two years. Those things were, first of all, programmed in the spirit realm but took some time to manifest in the physical realm.

So, whatever has been planted in your body, this is the best time to destroy it when you are still healthy. Don't wait till the sickness now comes and attacks your body in the physical realm.

"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." Acts 10:38

The devil oppresses people through sicknesses and infirmities. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). What are the works of the devil? Sickness and infirmity are part of it. Jesus was healing all who were oppressed.

"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them." Matthew 4:23-24

People are going through a lot. Many people's health is under attack. Many people are going through many spiritual attacks. In the time of Jesus, he was healing all of them. If the doctors could have healed those people who came to Jesus, I am so sure that they would have taken them to the hospital, but those cases were beyond medical explanation.

The enemy roams about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. So when there is a little opening, he can attack with sickness and disease. That is why I want us to pray today to block off every one of those openings.

What are the causes of Sickness and infirmity?

Sin: When Jesus healed that man, he told him, "Go and sin no more, or else a worse one will come upon you." (John 5:14-15) Sin attracts demons, devils and sicknesses into people's lives.
Wrong confession: The power of life and death is in the tongue, so when you are saying the wrong thing, you are attracting the wrong spirit into your life. It can lead to sickness and infirmities later. Proverbs 18:21
Spiritual attacks: There are witchcraft attacks that can also cause sickness and infirmities. That is why we need to pray to destroy them.
Sexual immorality: There are many people who are sleeping around or have sex with different people. What they are doing to themselves is that they are opening up themselves to different kinds of spirits and different forms of attacks. It may be sweet now, but there is pain within that act. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the garden, it was not bitter. They did not complain that it was a bitter fruit. It was sweet to the mouth, but it led to eternal condemnation

Repeat every prayer missile till it comes from your heart. Only then move on to the next prayer missile. (Repeat it, personalise it, do this with each prayer point for a minimum 1 minute)

1. In the name of Jesus, I uproot every spirit of sickness and infirmity from my life in Jesus name. (Isaiah 53:5)

2. Blood of Jesus, flush out any contaminations and pollutions in my blood in my body in the name of Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:7)

3. Fire of God pass through my life and destroy every deposit of darkness in my life in Jesus' name. (Ephesians 5:11)

4. I shall not die but live to declare the glory of God in the land of the living in Jesus' name. (Psalm 118:17)

5. You spirit of infirmity programmed against my life waiting to manifest, Be destroyed in the name of Jesus. (Luke 13:11-13)

6. I shall not die in Jesus' name. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

7. Oh Lord, empower me to heal the sick and to expand your kingdom on earth in Jesus' name. (Mark 16:17-18)

8. Oh Lord empower my spirit man in Jesus' name. (Ephesians 3:16)

9. Any arrow of sickness shot against my life, go back to your senders in Jesus' name. (Psalm 35:8)

10. Father, let your blood become a shield around my life in Jesus' name. (Psalm 91:4)
