Learning to Walk

The Lord says, “I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I healed them.” (Hosea 11:3)

One of the most important elements to deep life change is learning to walk (live) by the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as we had to learn how to live as human beings in this world, so we must learn how to live as spiritual beings in God's world. We must learn how to walk spiritually just as we learned how to walk physically. Our parents taught us how to walk physically, so the Spirit of God teaches us how to walk spiritually.

If we are going to walk in such a way as to please God in everything, we must walk in increasing knowledge of Him. Paul, the Apostle, prayed for the Church members. “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, owing in the knowledge of God “(Colossians 1: 9-10).

Allow the Bible to not only inform your thinking but also re-program your mind.

Another important quality of walking with the Lord is having a teachable heart. This will help us maintain what we have already attained in Him, and for actively engaging with Him day to day.

The biggest downfall of the Pharisees was that they believed they knew all there was to know about God. Due to this, they lived from a place of stagnancy in regard to their spiritual growth. Lord Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” (Mark 10:15) It means no matter what level we have attained, to receive more, we need to be teachable.

Father, forgive my pride and arrogance. I ask You for a teachable spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
