“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside, it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18 MSG)
Truly, grace is an unmerited favour that God gives us not based on our works but based on His power. But then, grace unfolds in layers. Like an onion, each layer is woven into the other. A level of grace opens up to another, and as we grow in God, we move from one level to another. The beautiful thing is that grace unfolds to you per time based on your present needs and God’s present dealings with you. In times of tribulation, the grace to forbear unfolds. In times of despair and want the grace to trust God and to wait on Him unfolds. And at other times, based on what is obtainable with you and in you, grace unfolds to help you in time of need.
Furthermore, the Bible says in John 1:16 that: “And of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.” Through God’s fullness and infiniteness, we have received grace but not just grace but grace for grace. That is, when we have received grace for anything or situation, He still unfolds another dynamic of grace for us that we might be able to use and appreciate the grace we received well. We need grace to walk in grace! And that grace is supplied from God, to him, that has received grace; grace is still given.
We must come to understand the concept of grace that the Bible discussed in Hebrew4:16: “Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” There are times when we are in situations that push us to the wall, life places us on a check, and we seem cornered, and there’s nothing we can do. We receive boldness to come to the throne of grace to gaze at the mercy of divinity and obtain grace to help through such situations.
Anytime we have an issue in our walk through life, all we have to do is to seek the face of Jesus—grace personified—that we might receive the grace we need to overcome. Grace is not an end in itself; it’s a means to an end. This is to say that a level of grace opens you up to the other outlandish experience of grace. You see, our faith will be futile without grace.
Hence, as you go out today, you must resolve to depend on God so that His grace can help you through life.

Lord, I pray that as I go out today, Your grace will attend to me at every point of my need. Lord give me the grace to seek You that I might obtain grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen
