Discipleship
If one reads the scriptures carefully, one will find that the Bible clearly makes a distinction between those who just flock to Jesus and disciples. Not everyone who attends the services is a disciple.
The following scriptures clearly show us this distinction:
Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude (Matthew 15:32)
Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples (Matthew 23:1)
In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all (Luke 12:1)
A lot can be said about this group and what it means to be a disciple. However, there are a few things that stand out:
1.This group of disciples shared a different relationship with Jesus than all other groups. They had direct access to the Lord.
2.They had access to teaching and information others did not have.
A question that I am often asked is, “I attend the services regularly; how do I move from being a part of the crowd to being a disciple?”
Turn with me to Luke 8:19, “Then His (Jesus’) mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. (Luke 8:19)
Notice, they were all part of the crowd. Now they wanted to distinguish themselves different from the crowd. They wanted to meet Jesus face to face.
And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” (Luke 8:20)
Listen to the reply of Lord Jesus. This is the key to moving from all other groups to becoming a disciple. The key to entering and growing in a relationship with Lord Jesus Christ.
But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” (Luke 8:21)
Constantly hearing the word of God and putting it into practice by applying it to our daily life brings us into a real and close relationship with the Lord. This is what makes you a disciple.

Confessions
I am crucified with Christ; I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) I am an overcomer. Greater is the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in me than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
