Do you know that even the best and the super talented can fail, whereas even the simple folk like you and I can enter into all that God has planned for us? It's true, and the secret is consistency.
#1: Consistency Proves Your Faith
When you get up in the morning, pray and read the bible day in and day out, even when you don't feel like it, whether circumstances are favourable or not, it proves that you have faith. You are not giving in to circumstances or feelings. Consistency is crucial if you are to see a breakthrough.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for, in due season, we will reap if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
#2: Consistency Maintains What You Have Attained
What you attain, you must maintain. Be it the anointing, business or relationships; consistency is the key ingredient that will help you maintain the level that you have attained.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast (consistent), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labour is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
New things excite us, but new things can also cause us to lose our focus if we are not careful enough. The key is when you choose to be consistent over choosing what is exciting will cause your roots to grow deeper.
#3: Consistency Brings Fruitfulness
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners,Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:1-3)
The Bible speaks of the Blessed man. Notice the phrase, "In His law, He meditates day and night" – that's consistency.
A life of consistency will bring fruit in its season.
One of the side benefits of this kind of spiritual discipline is that it will work its way into other areas of life as well.
And let steadfastness (consistency) have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:4)
