Chapter 7

On the first day of the first month, he began his journey from Babylon…(Ezra 7:9)

Ezra began his journey from Babylon to Jerusalem on the 1st day of the year. We all know that Babylon represents the world and Jerusalem is the city of peace...where the King of peace rules. It's a prophetic time to begin your spiritual journey towards the King of Peace.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. (Ezra 7:10)

We may say that anyone who desires to influence the lives of others by the proclamation of the word of God must possess all three of these objectives in order to be successful.

• First, to seek the Law of the LORD. 
This indicates that those who actively seek God's word and fellowship with God in His word are the ones who are able to experience the full impact of God's word.

• Second, to do it. 
This indicates that those who are not only hearers of the word but also genuine doers of the message are the ones who are able to experience the full impact of the word of God. It is not enough to simply know it; it must also be lived.

• Third, to teach. 
This indicates that those who truly teach others the word of God are the ones who are responsible for its full impact. The instruction of God's word is the means by which one must put into practice the insights gained through searching for knowledge and gaining experience.
