Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country.” (Joshua 2:1-2)
When a spirit filled man enters a new territory, the network of the enemy goes into action and the enemy leader is intimated about your whereabouts.
Prayer Points
Every spy network of the enemy against me, my family and the Karuna Sadan ministry be jammed and put into total disarray in the name of Jesus.
Then the woman took the two men and hid them. (Joshua 2:4)
This speaks of intercession. Intercession is hiding the people of God from the plans of the enemy. Intercessors often thwart the plans of the enemy.
Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. (Joshua 7:2)
A ford is a shallow place with good footing where a river or stream may be crossed by wading, or inside a vehicle getting its wheels wet.
A ford is a much cheaper form of river crossing than a bridge, but it may become impassable after heavy rain or during flood conditions. A ford is therefore normally only suitable for very minor roads (and for paths intended for walkers and horse riders etc.).
Rahab, the prostitute, who risked her life for people she didn’t even know. She was born to hide Joshua’s spies so that the Israelites could defeat Jericho. (See Joshua 2, 6.)
Then she said, “According to your words, so be it.” And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window. (Joshua 2:21)
The family under the blood
The house under the blood
The possessions under the blood of Jesus
Jericho was reported to be one of the strongest cities in the world at that time. Their security was the best. The wall was strong and mighty. History has it that the wall of Jericho was so thick that six horsemen could ride side by side with ease on it. It was so thick that Rahab, the harlot could build her house on it.
The wall of Jericho was strong enough to accommodate a whole house. "... for her house was upon the town wall and she dwelt upon the wall" (Joshua 2:15). But this wall could not stand the covenant people. No wall can stand covenant people.
