They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world (1 John 4:5)
One way to recognize that you are of the world is to hear how you speak
because as He is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
1 John 4:12 tells us, “If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” So then “perfected love” is the love of God expressing itself in our love to each other.
Most people, when they refer to something as being perfected, they usually mean that it was changed from a state of flawed imperfection into a state of flawless perfection.
But the New Testament Greek word that Apostle John uses (teleioo) here does not mean. In the New Testament, the word generally means finished, or completed, or accomplished. When something, like a trip or an assignment is completed, it is said to be “perfected.”
For example, the same word is used in John 4:34 where Jesus says, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.” The word “accomplish” here is the same word which in 1 John 4:12
Fear involves torment
If you think that God is angry at you and that He is all out to punish you, how then can you have faith for healing or deliverance? How can you believe Him for your miracle?
However, when you get hold of the revelation of how much the Lord loves you, you will not remain sick and bound for long. Meditating on His love for us is the perfect antidote for fear.
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. (1 John 4:17)
There was a thought that would come to my mind, how can I face Him on that day. This scripture answered my question perfectly.
Confession:
I am born of God and I have world overcoming faith residing on the inside of me. For greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world (I John 5:4-5; 1 John 4:4).
