Peace – God's Secret Weapon

While sharing the Gospel with a well-settled person, I mentioned that the Lord Jesus Christ could give him peace that no one else could! He twitched his nose sarcastically as if to say, “Peace, it's so boring.” “It is this very “Peace” that can stop you from going to pieces! With deadlines to meet, juggling of financial goals, and relationships that can totally rob you of your peace and plunge you into depression.” For a moment he was taken aback and then later he agreed.

Despite all the entertainment that is available, there have never been so many depressed people in the world as there are now.

A peace-filled life does not just happen out of the blue, there are choices that we need to make on a daily basis. A daily choice to come to Him. A daily choice to set our minds on His Word. A daily choice to trust Him no matter what’s happening around us.

As I mentioned earlier, peace will not come naturally. This is why the word challenges us to “seek peace and pursue it,” (Psalm 34:14). Now some may offer advice saying, “Get away for a few days, relax, take a vacation, don't think about stressful stuff, etc” Nothing wrong with that, but you see it's only a temporary solution and will not last long. The peace that God offers is different - It's lasting and real.

When you daily walk in the peace that the LORD offers, the battle you are in will soon become a fellowship meal that will nourish and build you up. In Psalm 23, he stood in the “shadow of death” itself, yet he “feared no evil.” Later he says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Why not daily make time every morning to seek Him; then you will be able to face everything that knocks at your door with confidence.
