“Of this [Gospel] I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God which was bestowed on me by the effective working of His power.” (Ephesians 3:7)
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a gift is: “something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation.” This is a pointer to the fact that the determinant of a gift is not the receiver but the giver. The giver of a gift decides when to give a gift, how to give it, and to whom it will be given.
Interestingly, the New Testament word for 'gift' (Charisma) has often been translated as grace. Even the scripture writers understand that grace is a gift: an unmerited favor. We do not receive it because we are worthy of it on our own or because there is something we have done to qualify for it.
God’s grace is not given to us because of our actions or qualifications. Hence, there is nothing we can do that will reduce or stop God from extending His grace towards us. He is the giver of grace, and He has decided to place the operations of grace on a pedestal that is separate from man’s actions and inactions. If a gift is based solely on what we do, its essence is then faulted.
Where then is the source of His grace? Where does His grace come from? Apostle Paul exposes this secret to us in the scripture quoted above: “…by the effective working of His power.” It is the efficacy of God, not our good works or our effectiveness that dispenses grace to us. And we know by His word that He is a God of limitless power and infinite possibilities.
So, if we would leverage on the blank check that God has placed before us to operate in spiritual altitudes that surpass human understanding and the configurations of the mind. All we have to do is believe in His word and trust fully in his grace. Grace is not the activation of personal abilities but the provision of supernatural abilities!
God, in His infinite wisdom has designed a program through which all men can enjoy heavenly blessings. A portal has flung open for us to live like God on earth, but the password for accessing this great opportunity is grace! Nothing else will suffice. Are you tired of struggling in your Christian journey? Do you seek to live the life of a conqueror even amid life’s challenges? Have you always wished that the things you read of in the scriptures played out in your life?
Then you need nothing but God’s grace: His supernatural equipment for dominion and success. As a matter of fact, you need grace to trust God, to wait on Him, and to seek him properly. Step out today in the full assurance of God’s endless, incessant grace.
