How to Come Out of a Financial Mess #2

Financial Deliverance
So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” (Numbers 14:1-3)
God had faithfully brought the children of Israel this far with miracles and signs and wonders. Surely the LORD would take them further and not leave them in their misery. If they would have only understood that it was not their natural abilities that had brought them this far, but it was only because of the LORD, they would have stopped looking to the past and would have sought the LORD instead.
Likewise, the starting point to financial recovery is to stop throwing yourself a pity party and accept reality. Living in the past only makes moving forward difficult. Let go of it and commit to moving forward. Not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s also the best way to help yourself.
If you want to enter into a financial breakthrough concerning your finances, you can learn from your past, but you can’t afford to live in your past. Wasting your time and energy by wallowing in your misery will make you have that much less energy to dedicate to solving the very real challenges you face to move forward in life.
Learning from the past involves that you don’t repeat the same financial blunders that got you into the rut you are in now. This could mean making some important lifestyle modifications such as giving up on impulsive buying, giving up on the craving for the latest gadgets, constantly eating out at restaurants etc. (Please note this is only a figurative list and may not apply to you)
Lastly, someone said, “the best defence is a good offence”. So get out of defensive mode and get started on the road to recovery with a clear offensive strategy. Having a plan is crucial.
Planning means mapping a road before you; then you will know what to do where and when; otherwise, you are just wandering aimlessly. Discuss matters with your spouse and prayerfully make a plan to get on the road to financial recovery.
Prayer
Power to create wealth fall upon me now in Jesus’ name.
Divine doors of opportunity open for my family members and me now in the name of Jesus. (Involve your entire family in praying these prayer points. Pray these points as many times as you can)
