Fasting and Prayer
The primary purpose of fasting is to humble ourselves before God.
“I humbled myself with fasting…” (Psalm 35:13).
“There…I proclaimed a fast so that we might humble ourselves before our God” (Ezra 8:21).
Therefore, it is imperative that we allow our fast to bring us to repentance.
Repentance
In the New Testament, the keyword for repentance is ‘metanoia’, meaning “to change one’s mind.” The Bible also tells us that true repentance will result in a change of actions.
“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now, the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Luke 3:8-9)
Repentance requires true brokenness. Repentance is not asking the Lord for forgiveness with the intent to sin again.
Repentance is an honest, regretful acknowledgement of sin with a commitment to change. Repentance leads us to cultivate godliness while eradicating habits that lead to sin.
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19)
The very first step you need to take is to acknowledge that you have made mistakes and sinned against God and need to get right with God.
The Holy Spirit will reveal to you the places that you are most susceptible to fall if you ask of Him because He is the ‘Helper’, the promise of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Never forget, it is impossible to place your faith in Jesus Christ as the Saviour without first changing your mind about your sin and about who Jesus is and what He has done.

Prayer
Repeat every prayer missile till it comes from your heart. Only then move on to the next prayer missile. (Repeat it, personalize it, do this with each prayer point for a minimum 1 minute)
1. Father, I come to You in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and I present my spirit, soul and body to you now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24, NLT)
3. I repent of every sin, every iniquity, every transgression, every fault, every unrighteousness and ungodliness in Jesus’ Name.
4. I confess and repent of the sins of my heart, my mouth and my mind in the name of Jesus.
5. By the Blood of Jesus, wash me clean, spirit, soul and body in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I also come before you on behalf of my loved ones, my family, and relatives.
7. I seal, soak and immerse my loved ones, my family, and relatives in the Blood of Jesus.
8. I confess my sins and the sins of my forefathers. We have sinned against You. We have lived wickedly, and have rebelled, disobeying Your voice and Your will. Forgive us.
9. You are a merciful God, full of grace and love, and I ask that You forgive us our sins and cleanse my bloodline of all unrighteousness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
10. Spend some quality time worshipping the Lord.
