Receive The Word

Once I was on the Prayer Line attending calls. A woman called me up and told me how the devil was harassing her in the night. I politely advised her to read the Bible before going to sleep.

Immediately she replied that she would keep the Bible under her pillow without fail every night. While this may sound funny to some, there are many who neglect reading the Bible.

Many have different versions of the Bible in their homes or on their phones, but they never take the time to read it. The devil is not afraid of you having a bible or holding the Bible; it’s only when you start reading the Bible and believing what it says that the devil goes into panic mode.


Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses. (Psalm 107:19)

The above scripture says that God’s people, when in trouble, cried out to the Lord, and He saved them. How does the Lord save His people? Look at the following verses.


He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions. (Psalm 107:20)

The Bible says that “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Now, when God wants to heal you, what does He do? He sends His Word. Before God delivers you from your destruction, He sends His Word.

This is the reason why you must make it a habit to read the Bible (the Word of God) daily. This is why you must not neglect reading the Daily Manna. (I often pray much before sending out the Word). The Word of God has the capacity to heal and deliver you.

During one of our church services, I was praying for a woman who did not have children. I was claiming God’s promises as I was praying. Another lady recorded the whole thing on her phone and sent it to her friend, who did not have children for nearly ten years.

This woman would every day hear the recording and pray along claiming the scriptures which I used. Within a few months, this woman miraculously conceived. Her friend even testified in one of our W3 Conferences. You see, it was the word of God that changed her situation. Never underestimate the power of God’s Word.

My son, (my daughter) give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh. (Proverbs 4:20-22)

Father, forgive me if I have neglected Your Word in any manner. Give me the grace to read and meditate on Your precious Word daily. For indeed Your Word is life and health to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen
