How to Develop the Fruit of the Spirit -2

We are not Christmas trees with stars and lights! We are called to bring forth real and abiding fruit. This is not possible without taking care of the root.

Our hearts are the unseen roots that bring visible fruit. Things that hinder us from bearing fruit originate in the heart. That's why we are admonished to keep a constant vigil over the heart.

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23). I have said this time and again: when the bible speaks of the heart, it is not speaking of the physical human heart but the spirit of man.

For every failure in life, there is a root cause. Healing and restoration will not come unless "the axe is laid at the root!" The process may be slow and painful, but this is how we can bear fruit in every area of our lives - private and public.

Very few acquire this blessedness overnight. Scales from our eyes fall off one by one, and then we begin to see the real picture.

Read the following very carefully: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:1-3)

Notice below the things that the Blessed Man does not do, the things he does and its results.

1. Things the Blessed Man does Not Do

Take Counsel (follow advice) of the ungodly (wicked) ...Stand in the path of sinners ...Sits in the seat (joins the company) of the scornful (mockers) scoffers

2.The Things that the Blessed Man Does ...Delights in the law of the Lord ...Meditates (reflects, thinks) the Word day and Night

3.The Results ...Tree (firmly) planted by the rivers (streams) of water ...Brings (yields) fruit in its season (without fail) ...Its leaf shall not wither

...Whatever he does prospers (succeeds) – Success is not an option or an uncertainty but a guarantee when divine principles are followed.

This is how you bear fruit for the glory of God.

I am fruitful and prosperous in every area of my life through meditating on God's word daily. I am blessed because the Holy Spirit is empowering me to put the Word of God into practice. God's word in my spirit is also giving life to every part of my body in Jesus' name.
