The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
A God-given dream can pull you through the storm and the flood. It can provide much-needed hope and encouragement when everything around you seems to be falling apart.
However, many have let their dreams just fade away or simply allowed them to be killed. Be careful of dream killers that want to snuff the life out of your dream. Please don't allow them to do it at any cost.
"Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more." (Genesis 37:5). Joseph initially was immature and shared his dreams with the wrong people and they, in turn, tried to snuff out Joseph's dreams. Joseph's brothers are a classic example of dream killers.
When the Lord reveals to you something in prayer, in a dream, or reveals something through a man or a woman of God; don't go around telling it all over the place. That's immature and hints at hidden pride. Only reveal your dream, your God-given secrets to people who are mature in the spirit.
Not everyone around you wants to see your dream fulfilled. They may pretend to do so, but eventually, you will know. How? By their words. They may tell you that it is impossible for you, that you are not smart enough or that it's never been done before.
Also, don't let fear; intimidation, doubt and lack of finances dictate to you that you can't fulfil your dream. Talk back to these dream killers. David spoke back to Goliath. Tell those dream killers, "I will fulfil my God-given destiny in Christ Jesus". You may have to do this every day, but that's ok. The more you speak in this manner, the more the dream will grow inside of you and will be safe within you.
The Lord has promised us, "I will visit you and perform My good word toward you….For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:10-11)
Always remember, with God, it's never too late to start dreaming or to pursue and fulfil the dream that God has given you. Work towards your dream and do your part; God will do His.
