It's Time for Transfer of Power

"For exaltation comes neither from the east. Nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one and exalts another. (Psalm 75:6-7)

After the enemy is defeated, the saints can advance and progress into royalty. The Bible says in Esther 8:1-2, "On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. So the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai, and Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman." 

For Mordecai to have access to the king's own signet ring indicates the trust and power he had been afforded and his badge of office. Authority has been transferred to the Jews. Now the Jews had a second voice in the palace and the nation's cabinet. The same people that were slayed for slaughter are not just alive but are now fully represented in the nation's leadership structure. Mordechai now was not just another elder in the king's palace; he was next to the king. 

The king gave him his ring. In those days, when a king wanted to make a decree after it was written, the king's signet ring was used to stamp the document. This was a sign of authority. When people saw any writing that had that stamp, those instructions had to be obeyed. This was the same ring that the king gave Mordecai. You can imagine the dimension of authority he now has in the land. A man who was once a captive had been elevated to second in command. He was next to the king. 

The Bible says promotion comes from the Lord. It doesn't matter who has relegated you or how far they have forgotten you; when it's time, power will be transferred to you. The question is, where were the other cabinet members? Who was next in command to Haman? Couldn't the king select one of them in his place since they had been with him for a while? Why bring in a new person to the nation's political cabinet as the second in command to the king? Some of those people had only seen the signet ring in the king's hand but had probably never touched it. And right in their presence, Mordecai was given the authority.

My friend, God has great plans for you. You don't need to lobby your way to the top; neither should you kill nor cheat to gain promotion. You don't need to plot evil like Haman to rise in life and enjoy the transformation. God is aware of where you are, and He has great plans for you. He is an expert in bringing someone down and setting up another. Just as he brought Haman down, He will bring your enemies down and set you up in their place. 

You are His child, and you are redeemed for royalty. You are not a slave but a king. Revelations 1:6 says, "and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." We are redeemed to reign and lead, not to be enslaved. Are you struggling to rise now? Don't worry; God is coming through for you. He is preparing for your position already. He is preparing the ring that will be transferred to you.

So, maintain the right attitude. It's easy to be depressed and feel inferior because you are still not at the top. I want you to know that the enemy is only keeping that position for you. So, get excited where you are. Serve God and be committed to your task. And in due season, God's hand will lift you. 

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for the great plans you have for me. I thank you because I am not a mistake. I pray that your mighty hand will lift me from the ground. I pray that you guide me in the way to go. I pray that you help me by your Spirit to maintain the right attitude. In Jesus' name. Amen.
