"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)
Psalm 22:3 KJV says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." The Word of God says that when we worship Him, He inhabits our surroundings. God steps into our situation when we worship. It is like a direct invitation to God. It is often said that when we pray to God, He sends His angels to deliver our requests. But when we worship, He steps in personally. Do you want God to dwell in your family? Then create an atmosphere of worship. Let the praise of God always be in your mouth.
Think about when Paul and Silas were thrown in prison. The Bible says in Acts 16:25-26, "But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains were loosed." They prayed and sang to God, despite their circumstances. Suddenly, there was an earthquake, and the prison doors flew open! All the prisoners were set free! This is awesome.
These guys were arrested because they preached the gospel, not that they did something wrong. They didn't violate any law of the land. They were thrown in prison for spreading the good news. Imagine being blamed for standing for the truth. Will you still praise God, or will you start complaining, wondering why He watched you go through this issue? These men knew better. They knew that praising God brings Him into their situation. So, they engaged the key. They changed the atmosphere of the prison, and the miraculous happened.
Playing praise and worship music is a simple yet powerful way to welcome God's presence — His peace, joy, and all of who He is — into your home. Doing this on a daily basis will bring remarkable changes in your home. The mightiness of God stepped in and set them free. Are you bound in any way? Praise God and watch Him step in on your behalf.
This is one hidden mystery that many are not exposed to. We live in a world where we love to complain and murmur. Understand that murmuring keeps God away from your situation. God will simply step aside and watch you struggle it out on your own. Believe me; you can't imagine what the devil will do to you if God steps out of your home. So keep God's presence permanently around you by engaging in worship as a lifestyle.
Yes, things may not be as you desire, but the Bible says there is hope when you remain joined to God. And one way to remain joined to Him is to always praise Him. Wake up each morning and sing praises to Him.
King David said in Psalm 119:164, "Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments." Can you imagine praising God seven times a day? That is, he had a schedule for praising God. Soon, he realized that wasn't enough because of God's goodness in His life. So he said in Psalm 34:1-2, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;" Seven times was too small, so he chose to bless the Lord at all times. Amazing!
Would you also be like David? No wonder he didn't lose any battle all through his days. He knew the secret to secure God's presence, and when God is with you, nothing and absolutely nothing and no one can successfully be against you. So, as you drive to work, or at home, or at the gym, play songs. Let the praise of God always be in your mouth because He is good, and His mercies over your life are forever.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for all you have done for me. I thank you for your goodness and mercies. I praise you because you love me and care for my family. I pray that you help me to always praise you. I decree that I will always see your hand in my life and not complain. In Jesus' name. Amen.
