Can Christians Command Angels?

Recently, there has been much interest in the angelic realm. I have come across numerous articles (even by well-known personalities) claiming that Christians can command angels and tell them to do what they want to do.

Our sole authority is the Word of God, so let's see what the Word says:

1.Angels are God's servants, not ours

I have heard many people pray, "O Blessed Archangel Gabriel intercede for me. Michael the Prince of the heavenly host, I command you to go and destroy that power.

Angels are God's servants and not ours. They come and go forth at His command. They respond to His Word, His voice, and not to our direct commands or requests. Take a look at the following scriptures, and what I say will make more sense.

Bless the Lord, you His angels,

Who excel in strength, who do His word,

Heeding the voice of His word.

Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,

You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. (Psalm 103:20-21)

Take a look at Psalm 91:11

For He (God) shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

Notice the phrase, "He shall give His angels."

This giving of His angels for our protection is in response to prayer made to Father in the name of Jesus.

When Lord Jesus walked on earth, He acknowledged that the angels were under the authority of His Father.

"But Jesus said to him, 'Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?'" (Matthew 26:52-53)

1 Peter 3:21-22 says that after the Resurrection, the angels are now under the command of Jesus.

"... and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him." (1 Peter 3:21-22)

And it is Lord Jesus who releases these angels to help us.

"Are they, not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14)

So you see, these angels do serve us, but they only obey the spiritual authority of the LORD.

Personal Spiritual Growth

Every burden shall be taken away from off my shoulder, and every yoke from off my neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. I will grow in the understanding of the Word.( Isaiah 10:27)

Family Salvation

My inheritance shall be forever. I shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine, I and my family members shall be satisfied spiritually and financially. (Psalm 37:18-19)

Financial Breakthrough

My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) I and my family members shall lack no good thing. In Jesus’ name.

Father, Your word says, You shall give your angels charge over us to keep us and guard us in our ways. In the name of Jesus, release Your Holy angels around Pastor Michael, his family, team members and every person connected to Karuna Sadan Ministries. Destroy every work of darkness against them.

Nation

Father, let Your peace and righteousness fill our nation. Let all the forces of darkness and destruction against our nation be destroyed. Let the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ spread in every city and state of India. In Jesus’ name.
