Draw Near to God

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

Here we are given a wonderful invitation and a glorious promise.

1. An invitation - Draw near to God.

2. The promise - When you draw near to God, He promises I will draw near to you.

Hebrews 9:1-9 tells us that in the temple, a veil separated the Holy of Holies. This signified that man was separated from God by sin. Only the high priest was permitted to pass beyond this veil once each year to enter into God's presence for all of Israel and make atonement for their sins.

But after Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross, something wonderful happened; this curtain was torn from top to bottom. It signified that now the way into the Holy of Holies was open for all people, for all time, both Jew and Gentile.

There was a time in my life when the notion of drawing near to God seemed mysterious and exclusive, reserved for a select few. However, during a moment of prayer, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, saying, "It all depends on you how much you want to know me." The ability to grow closer to God is, in fact, accessible to everyone. The key lies in an individual's own desire and determination to deepen their relationship with the Lord. The more one yearns to know God, the more open one becomes to experiencing a profound spiritual connection.

How far do you want to go in God?

Like Ezekiel the prophet in chapter 47 (Please read the whole chapter)

How deep do you want to go in God, ankle-deep, knee-deep, waist-deep or to a place where the Holy Spirit takes hold of you? It all depends on you. The Lord says to you, how much you draw close to Me, that much I will draw close to you.

The King and Creator of this universe wants to be close to you! However, He will not force Himself upon you. He leaves the choice to you.

You don't tell royalty to come to you; you go to Him. The Good News is that more than 2000 years ago, this God came down to this earth, lived a sinless life, shed his blood, died on the cross and rose again. Today, we go to Him. You say I give myself to you. I surrender to you."

Look at what the prodigal son said:

I will arise and go to my father and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."' And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. (Luke 15:18-20)

How to Draw Close to Him Daily

Drawing near to God is spending time with Him, worshipping Him, praying and talking to Him, and inviting Him into every aspect of our lives. Have a fixed time every day for doing this. You will be amazed at what He will do through you.

1. We are fasting (Tue/Thu/Sat) of 2023. This fasting has five main goals.

2. Each prayer point must be prayed at least for 2 minutes and more

3. Also, use these prayer points on the days you are not fasting

Personal Spiritual Growth

Father, Your word says, “Every plant which my Heavenly Father has not planted shall be uprooted.” Uproot everything that hinders me from growing in my walk with You. I cover my prayer time with the Blood of Jesus.

Father, give me grace to pray daily. As I draw near to You, draw near to me as You promised In Jesus Name Amen.

Family Salvation

Blessed Holy Spirit, show me specifically how to minister to each member of my family. Empower me Lord. Reveal opportunities to share about You, at the right moment. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Financial Breakthrough

Every seed that I have sown will be remembered by the LORD. Hence, every impossible situation in my life will be turned around by the LORD. In Jesus’ name.
