Do This One Thing

One morning, I received a message saying, “Pastor Mike, I lost my job for no fault of mine, and hence I don’t want to attend church anymore. I will not be reading the bible anymore also.”

In these times of economic upheavals, there are many who are going through a storm in their faith life. They feel God has forsaken them. The truth, however, is quite contrary. The Lord never said that we would not go through storms and the flood – we may. The good news is that His presence will never leave us but will make sure we come out stronger.

Read the following verse, and it will be more apparent to you:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,

Nor shall the flame scorch you. (Isaiah 43:2)

If you are currently going through a storm in your faith life, then there is one thing I advise you to do. I must gently warn you that not doing it may end in disaster.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 tells us that friends make us stronger and more resilient. Regardless of this fact, many people struggle to get close to people. Ask the Lord for friends who are stronger than you spiritually.

Being spiritually stronger than you, they will pray for you and God in His mercy will respond by opening new doors that are better than the ones which are closed. (Revelation 3:8) Don’t isolate yourself. When you share your life with strong spiritual friends, your load will seem a lot lighter.

If you are part of the Karuna Sadan Church then I encourage you to connect to a J-12 leader. This person will pray for you. If you are a J-12 leader reading this, remember what you do for others God will make it happen for you. (Read Proverbs 11:25). Sincerely pray for the people that connect with you.

One last thing, friendships are developed over time with some intentional effort. There is no such thing as a perfect friendship. The ability to make friends and keep friends needs to be developed. The Lord shall surely supply the grace for this. You just need to ask Him. Your life will then be a blessing to thousands. (Read Genesis 12:2). And yes, when you get those friends, learn to respect and honour them. Please don’t take them for granted.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that thousands would tune into the KSM Live broadcasts every Tue/Thu & Sat. Turn them and their families towards You Lord. Let them experience your miracles. Cause them to testify so that Your name would be exalted and glorified.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for a mighty move of Your Spirit across the length and breadth of our nation, resulting in the continuous growth and expansion of the churches.
