A woman had ten silver coins and lost one. The lost coin, regardless of being in a dark, unseen place, retained its value. “She valued the coin.” In our lives, we might feel lost, unseen, and unworthy, but in God’s eyes, our value is immeasurable. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10).
Light in the Darkness:
In the pursuit of the lost coin, “She lit a lamp because of the darkness - the lit light assisted her in her search for the coin.” This light is symbolic of God’s word illuminating our paths, revealing the hidden, and providing guidance in our spiritual journeys. The Psalmist declares, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). We, the church, endowed with this divine light, are tasked with disseminating it to the darkest corners of the world, uncovering the hidden treasures – the lost souls yearning for salvation.
Intense Search:
The woman’s search was not casual; it was intentional and intense. The church, led by the Holy Spirit, should mirror this intensity in seeking the lost, emphasising the deep, profound love that God extends to every individual. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). This is why we at Karuna Sadan Ministries must take intercession seriously. Intercession will release the grace and power that we need to be relentless and intentional in sharing the gospel, understanding that every soul is a treasure to the Lord.
Purification and Reflection:
The sweeping of the house is not only a meticulous search but also a symbol of purification and reflection within the church. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Hebrews 10:22). It is crucial for the body of Christ to continually examine itself, purifying from within, to be a radiant reflection of Christ’s light in the world.
Rejoicing in Restoration:
When the woman found the coin, she rejoiced and called her neighbours to join in her happiness. This exuberant joy represents the heavenly jubilation over a single sinner who repents. “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10). The restored relationship between the Lord and the lost is a cause for divine celebration, reflecting the eternal impact of salvation.
Today, I humbly urge you to reflect on the immense love God has for each of us. Time is very short. You and I need to reach out to the people around us. Do not fear; He will empower us. At the same time, use wisdom to share the love of Christ. As you do this, joy will unfold in heaven.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we ask Your grace to illuminate our paths, refine our hearts, and intensify our pursuit for the lost. May we reflect Your boundless love and celebrate every soul reclaimed for Your eternal glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
