If you keep doing the same things, you cannot expect anything new. Something in the recipe has to change so that we can expect a different dish. If you have to see a new harvest, change the seed you are sowing. Simply put, change will affect the quality and the quantity of results.
There are 5 things that Hinder Change in an individual’s life.
1. PRIDE
Pride says I don’t need to change.
Pride is interested in doing things its own way. Pride is not interested in doing things God’s way.
Humility will do things God’s way.
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (Romans 12:2 TPT)
Pride is a hindrance to change. Pride says I don’t need to change. Pride is always trying to preserve its present state. Pride has its own agenda. As long as there is pride in your life, you will never change.
Sincerely ask the Lord to deal with the secret pride of your heart. It may be rough, but you will see great changes in your life.
2. FEAR
Fear says I am afraid to change.
I am afraid to take the risk, and you are telling me to change.
They fear change, so they hang on to something that is average rather than step into something new.
Too many times, people want to hang on to their belief systems and other things inspite of knowing they are sailing in the wrong boat because they fear change. It’s their security system. They fear what this one and that one will say. Fear keeps them from changing.
Fear is not from God. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Don’t be afraid because something happened in the past. Don’t settle for good when God wants you to have His best. Someone said Good is the enemy of the best.
It’s time to get rid of fear. It’s time to walk on water. It’s time to get your eyes on Jesus. In order to get out of fear. Great change is coming.
