Debt
A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to (Prophet) Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” (2 Kings 4:1)
1.Debt Enslaves You
In 2 Kings 4:1, we see a child of God in debt. She’s on the verge of losing even her children to creditors. Debt will enslave you and make you owe more than you own. Debt will make you work today to pay for yesterday.
Some are in a cycle of debts borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Debt has destroyed relationships, families, churches and callings. Some use one credit card to pay another credit card. This demonic cycle has to break so that you can fulfil all that God has called you to be and do.
2.Debt Affects Health
There are many people who cannot sleep because of debts. There are people who have lost their health because of debts, blood pressure, migraines.
Some people died not because it was their time but because of the pressure and stress of debts. Some committed suicide; some drowned themselves in addictions. I know these things because I, too, was there once in my life. I thank God for His grace that delivered me. Now that same grace can deliver you too.
3.Debt Affects Your Looks
Debt makes a young girl look like an older woman, and a young man look like an older man.
4.Debt Takes Away Your Dignity
There is no dignity in borrowing. When you borrow, you have to tell them things (sometimes personal things) so that they can have mercy on you and lend to you. I know of certain men and women who had to compromise their values, their very dignity so they could get money. People who loaned them money abused them.
The rich rules over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7)
5.Debt Affects You Spiritually
Some people are tongue talking Christians, but because of debts, the enemy uses their tongue to lie and manipulate. Such cannot even pray. Fear has entered them. Debt is a tormentor and a destroyer.
However, I want to give you the good news. The LORD does not want His children to be debtors. His word clearly tells us that His people will be the ones lending to others, and not the other way round (Deuteronomy 15:6)

Praying Your Way Out of Debt
Prayer is a spiritual weapon, but it needs to be aimed at a specific target and fired, like a gun repeatedly, until you see the results. Unfocused prayer will yield no results.
Now please understand, what I mean by praying your way out of debt. The LORD is our provider and will certainly help you get out of debt. For some, He will miraculously open doors of opportunity that did not even seem to exist. For some, He will give creative ideas. For some, it will be miracle money; for some job opportunities, business opportunities. The one thing you need to do is act on these opportunities provided by the Lord.

1. Mountain of debt and poverty from my life and family be uprooted now in the name of Jesus.
2. Satanic powers chewing my finances and possessions be burnt by fire in Jesus’ name.
3. Chains of financial limitations break over my life in the name of Jesus.
4. The LORD who delights in my prosperity, prosper the work of my hands in the name of Jesus.
